Boys become Kings, Girls will be Queens

rrt2013got my newest Rockin Road Tunes from Interlinc ( in student ministry?  you really should join YLO)the other day and among the many amazing tunes (click on the image to hear a sample)…a song from Audio Adrenaline, Kings and Queens is part of the playlist.  I can’t get this song out of my head.  love the amazing lyrics.  It maybe that in less than a week i’m joining an amazing group of Christ followers on a Compassion International vision tour traveling many thousand of miles to wrestle through the questions posed by this song.

I’ll be blogging more about that trip over the next week and then hopefully sharing from the road all that the team will see and experience.  For now, if you don’t know this song…i’d encourage you to get your copy and play it…and let the words settle in you.

I really appreciated this video that goes to the core of what the song is about.  I’m grateful too for the work of Mark Stuart and to the band Audio Adrenaline….love that even after a couple of decades of making good music and creating Kingdom moments, they do it once again.  the lyrics are solid and thoughtful.  here’s the final chorus..

If not us who will be like Jesus
To the least of these
If not us tell me who will be like Jesus
Like Jesus to the least of these

Boys become kings, girls will be queens
Wrapped in your majesty
When we love, when we love the least of these
Then they will be brave and free shout your name in victory
We will love we will love the least of these

Incredibly powerful stuff.  stay tuned.  more to follow.

Where are you going on your Compassion Vision Trip? Life changing stuff, would love to decompress with you after the trip. I got to Ecuador in 2010 and it changed me. That’s why we plant churches where there is no churches in poverty stricken areas to see lives and communities changed in the name of Jesus. Check out http://www.cityedge.org/wrecktheroof
