Social(media) is in it’s infancy. Our forward progress will not come from technology progress alone. We are on the cusp of gaining unparalleled insights into what makes people and communities tick. We likely will not know what to do with some of these insights at first. But I can tell you that the answer won’t come from an algorithm alone. It’s time to start studying our numbers as the people they are.

its fascinating to see bobby mcferrin help us understand our commonality. amazing video…and astute observations at the conclusion. really interesting stuff.

you take 16 gallons of ice cream add at least 22 pies…mix them together with about 175 fun-filled folks from our outpost and you’ve got the launch of our 40 Days of Love campaign with the amazing Chip Richter. sharing a quick wrap-up at the Chip Richter Family concert. we hosted the summer staff at a season roundup at our home over the weekend. after a great meal, the staff shared a song that capture the memories of 7 good weeks at camp this year at phoc. not only do they have great hearts…creative minds and pretty good voices too! wondering what memories you have from camp?

gurus of tech olypmics

a few weeks back we took the tech crew and headed down to louisville, ky to southeast christian for the gurus of tech conference. it was a great gathering of tech folks from around the midwest. so appreciated the hearts of our hosts to make the time memorable. all through the conference there were some great competitions between various tech areas. here’s a clip from the “load-in” and sound guys. no equipment was damaged (too much) in this exploit.

i was going through some of the video that we shot during d2s09 last month and stumbled on this little short. i need to find out how the issue was resolved, but i’m guessing the students didn’t clearly understand their own self-interest. the leader, jackie, pictured in the video has a great heart and a great sense of humor so i’m confident that she created a memory or two herself. enjoy.
