francis chan makes a convicting statement at the conclusion of this video clip from catalyst 2010..”i want my life to fit in this book one day”. in the context of understanding what we are doing as “church” today maybe way outside of what the church is to be.

Up to Faith is a spiritual workshop. It is a group of artists whose goal it is to see and make seen the invisible in the visible, eternity in time, and the heart of man. We aspire to stand beside the suffering and whisper into their ears: there is hope, and this hope is not just an empty word, our life is the evidence of its existence. they’ve scheduled another event for April 24, 2011. very cool.
Why Water?
Right now, almost a billion people on the planet don’t have access to clean, safe drinking water. That’s one in eight of us.
Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of diseases and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Children are especially vulnerable, as their bodies aren’t strong enough to fight diarrhea, dysentery and other illnesses.
But, water moves beyond just a human rights issue. It’s an environmental issue, an animal welfare issue, a sustainability issue. Water is a global issue, deserving a global conversation. And to address that the folks at charity:water are leading the way. here’s couple of videos to tell the story.
