here’s a couple of thoughts i meandered through today…on the 5th of July. one is a clip that (ht rudy) pointed to regarding U2’s concert last week in barcolena. During friday nite’s performance U2 played their hit “Sunday Bloody Sunday” –which is about British troops who shot and killed civil rights marchers in Ireland –and while they sang green light covered the stage and Farsi lyrics ran across the screens in support of the freedom marchers in iran. one more reason i am a U2 fan.
and then i stumbled on this clip from a few years back at TED with an amazing insightful talk by andrew mwenda that is a useful reminder to all and especially americans…the responsibility that comes with our greatness as a nation and that we must understand charity or aid correctly. i think there’s some more thinking that our folks in washington need to do as we are in the midst of re-inventing goverment. worth the watch.
