a day in the life

okay…so life is sort of crazy around here. here’s how the weekend went. headed to the airport to pickup our adopted brazilian brothers, Ze and Paulo who are visiting for a week with their american family…namely my mom & dad. the both were students in the rotary youth exchange. ze was here in ’79 and paulo was here in ’94. took them to the family homestead near cedar point on the north coast. spent some time catching up since it had been more than 11 years since we’ve seen each other. not much has changed. some hair…some weight, but life still is good and the friendships deep. then it was back to the family homestead to get some things ready and then head over to the camp for the emmaus women’s walk that rose was serving on team for. hung around there until later…headed back home, but before i left i picked up rose’s suv to get gas for her. went home…surfed and wrote some and then headed to bed. got up at 0600 again…got gas…headed to the camp and then to ltown to get some work done before the services started. of course there was plenty things that were amiss with the technology so had to tweak, plug in and get things in an orderly fashion. way to messy for some, but we’re getting there. headed north to pick up the jedster and sarai and then off to the lake for the first of two celebrations today. the first was the larger family beyond our biological with ze & paulo. the celebration included a two hour webcam skype hookup with the boyz family in brazil. very cool this technology. lots of great laughs and fun moments. hung around for a few more hours and then headed back south for the second celebration which was the baptism of more than a 100 folks into the life of our spiritual home. amazing stuff. great stories…a packed out crowd and just very good things.
