Saturday, our 3rd day together on the ground in Cincinnati was full. We had planned on a morning training ride, but heavy rains detoured us to local bike shop and then off to a few hours at the Freedom Center – The Underground Railroad Museum in the downtown area located on the river and in between the two stadiums. I’m still processing all that we saw and experienced. Had a great conversation with their staff. To be honest, I don’t think any of us, on the team or generally truly realize the scope of the problem of those held in modern day slavery.
Today, Sunday was an easier day with the team getting the opportunity to share the mission of the IJM Freedom Tour with our good hosts at the Real Life Church. Pastor Marty was kind to have the congregation circle up and pray over the team and then to invite those present to invest in our effort. humbling. we got a good 12 mile training ride in and in just a few hours we head out on the first leg- approximately 100 miles to Chilocothe, OH. Gonna be fun. Lots of anxiousness on the team. Please pray as we’ll be getting up at 5am and then on the road before 7. mitch, clay and myself…and the rest of the team would love to hear your thoughts and comments as we move into this.
Praying for all of you as you officially start out on the mission! I love every video, picture and little detail that you provide Tom. Keep sharing the stories! Bless you all and thank you for what you are doing to make a difference in Christ’s name!
