The Freedom Tour has been organized by Venture Expeditions. Their good work brings together people who have amazing hearts and energy. Note: What follows is from an email Venture sent out to to their “tribe” about the tour Mitch, Clay and I are taking part in.
Venture has always been a community comprised of individuals with a unique story sacrificing on behalf of other individuals who have their own unique story. We love when people join a tour because God has inspired them to engage in His story of justice based on their unique experiences.
Take some of the participants in the upcoming IJM Freedom Tour, for example:
Carmen Cheek, who shares her story of sexual abuse and how it has inspired her to ride to help others who are sexually exploited.
Rich Dixon, a hand cyclist who has made it his mission to inspire people to write a good story with their life after a spinal cord injury caused him permanent paralysis.
Ryan & Rachel Skoog, parents of two young children, who have chosen to make their 10-year wedding anniversary (and their family) about biblical justice.
Lydia Ness, who recently graduated college with a degree in journalism, has been inspired by IJM and is starting law school in the fall so she can one day devote her life to the work of justice.
“For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” – Galatians 5:13
These folks are capturing the sentiment Paul shares with the church in Galatia.
In God’s story of justice, freed people free people.
